Society Room Clean Room Guidelines

All societies with rooms and/or storage in House 6, Goldsmith Hall, or the Atrium must adhere to the new Society Clean Room Guidelines.

Each society must sign the responsibility agreement found within the guidelines by 31 October.

These guidelines outline shared responsibility for maintaining clean, accessible, and usable spaces for all members of the College community. Please review them carefully and ensure your committee members are aware of the standards and cleaning schedule requirements.

Room checks will take place during the Reading/Revision Weeks of both Michaelmas and Hilary Terms. Repeated failure to comply may result in your society’s removal from its allocated room and/or storage.

How to Apply for an Amenities Grant

All requests must be submitted through the Amenities Request Form.

How does the Amenities Grant work?

The Amenities Officer is allocated an annual budget to maintain and improve society rooms and bookable equipment. This budget is distributed fairly across all 70+ societies with rooms, so please take into account:

  • The scale of your request relative to other societies
  • Existing CSC equipment
  • Any charges from Estates and Facilities for maintenance

The cost for approved amenities requests will not be deducted from your society’s grant (Grants Policy Section 5.13).

Please note that provisionally recognised Societies are generally not eligible for grants under the category of Amenities, unless the CSC Executive determines that such grants are essential for the survival of the society (Grants Policy Section 8.1).
