CSC Term General Meeting - Hilary

January 23, 2025

The annual CSC Hilary Term General Meeting will take place at 6 p.m. on Thursday the 30th of January in the Robert Emmet Theatre, Arts Building. It is important to note that the membership of the CSC is made up of the Treasurers of all the fully-recognised Sodalities and Associations and the members of the Executive: this is the group of people who are counted towards quorum and hold any vote at meetings of the CSC, in accordance with the CSC Constitution. Basically, your society treasurer should show up at the TGM/AGM etc. of the CSC.

I am a treasurer and I cannot attend the TGM due to other commitments

If you as the Treasurer of a fully Recognised Sodality or Association cannot make the meeting, then you may proxy your vote to another member of your committee by completing and emailing the proxy form to secretary@csc.tcd.ie at last 24 hours ahead of the meeting.

Any other society officer or member of college wishing to attend the CSC TGM is welcome.

Alongside the usual officer reports and other potential motions, there are multiple motions relating to the CSC's governing document and associated policy documents which we will be voting on. There are 4 motions as detailed below.

Motions for HTGM

The first (Motion A) of these relates to updates to the Grants Policy Document which aim to amend the policy so it has stable dates for all future years and streamline dates where possible. I've attached both the current version of said policy document, and a version with proposed changes.

Motion B relates to amendments to the CSC's Recognition Policy Document which aim to share the clear definitions of each type of University Society, establish a process for dealing with proposed changes to a society's goals, and add clarity to the suspension and derecognition processes among other things.
