Society for International Affairs (SOFIA)
The Society for International Affairs was set up four years ago to give students with an interest in international affairs and diplomacy an opportunity to explore these interests, engage in discourse with like-minded people and hear about diplomatic life from ambassadors themselves. Since its inception, SOFIA has expanded in scale and scope, branching out from the original ambassador and networking events to new topics and ventures including a panel series examining the impact of the refugee crisis on Europe, hearing stories from people on the frontline of the world's most harrowing crisis zones and those who have penetrated the fortress of North Korea, or engaging in informal table fellowship with Ireland's most renowned ambassadors at the annual Ambassadors? Ball. SOFIA tries to cover every aspect of International Affairs from a variety of perspectives in order to provide our members with a balanced and informative picture of the most pressing issues facing the global community today.
